LOVE × PERFORMANCE
I make visual art about play, identity and performance. My work begins with the tension between who we are, who we want to be, and what is expected of us.
LOVE × PERFORMANCE is the thread that runs through my practice. To me, performance is not only about achievement, but also about the roles we take on and the images we create of ourselves. Love stands for connection, vulnerability, and the need to be seen.
That tension is personal. I grew up in the world of competitive sport, where play gradually became performance and my identity became increasingly tied to results. Today, that experience is not a subject in itself, but a lens through which I look at our human drive to perform, to win, to belong, and to make sense of who we are.
For me, play creates space to question and turn those expectations around. Through sculptures, installations, and collaborations, I take materials, objects, and symbols out of their familiar contexts and give them new meaning.
My practice moves between love and performance, play and seriousness, vulnerability and ambition.
What remains when we stop trying to prove who we are, even for a moment?
